Overlooking Lake Geneva/Lac Léman, Montreux is mostly famous for its jazz and musical history, but also for the high proportion of famous people in residence. I can see the appeal, quiet, great views and a generally unassuming atmosphere. Weather in Switzerland was proving to be very different from France, with cool days, momentarily clear and then threatening showers, but not unpleasantly. Curtains of rain across the bay made for memorable sights.
