Timing, Luck and Chance
No sooner had I returned home on Wednesday did I get a call from a client asking if I could meet with them on Thursday morning in the same town I'd just been to! With another early start, eyes glazed, back I went. The roadworks are becoming old.

The meeting, which I'd expected would have a negative overtone, went very well. Development on that project (another very large one) starts late January.

On an unrelated topic, I bought a graphite pool cue on Wednesday; it's very nice.

Printing of my new business cards has taken longer to organise than I'd expected, which isn't unexpected ;) The original company, AB, have messed me around in the past, and have messed me around again. I've dropped them and gone to McTaggarts where I know people that I can trust to do the job right.

In a strange case of chance (or coincidence), an acquaintance who I haven't spoken to for several years recently approached me to do some website design and we got talking about another old friend of ours who I haven't seen for even longer. A few days later when I approached AB about the business cards, I found the old friend I'd been talking about was now working there! Unfortunately, that was to be short lived: he was sacked from AB just a few days later on the grounds that they couldn't afford to keep him on. Apparently they hadn't been paying him correctly either. He'd only started working there a few months ago; talk about bad luck. So that, along with the very poor service I received, was enough to convince me it was time to deal with someone more respectable: McTaggarts it was.

Delayed Broadcast
I'm on the highway today heading out of town for a dental appointment. It's often difficult to get one within a reasonable time frame in town these days, so I'm going back to my original dentist. No doubt I'll ruin any work that's done with a luscious lunch from The Brown Jug Cafe ;)

A lot has happened since I last entered anything here but most of it I've already forgotten, which proves how trivial things can seem in retrospect. Presently though, my Urban Explorer tees are being produced and should be ready shortly. I took the final specs in to the screeners yesterday afternoon (quite a drive as they're in another town). I'm very happy with the design and hopefully the end product will look as good in real life as it does on screen. Once I receive them thehandle.com will be put online just in time for Christmas, with five initial fun and strange products (The Handle mug, kthxbi! mug, Urban Explorer tee in three sizes and Wi-Fi Warrior and Contains Caffeine beanies). It'll be interesting to see how much interest there is but most importantly it should be a fun adventure.

The Matrix Revolutions opened on the 6th in a world-wide simultaneous "zero hour" release. I thoroughly enjoyed the movie and it tied up the series neatly - something that I thought wouldn't be possible considering the Dooms Day path the first two movies presented. After watching The Matrix and The Animatrix, playing Enter The Matrix and then watching The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions, the story has provided a great journey and an impressive piece of entertainment. Anyone that doesn't like the last movie probably just doesn't get the whole story. Certainly watching all three movies consecutively is important.

I had another hair cut and my hair is now shorter than ever. It's so short that I should just buy a shaver and do a 1 and 2 over the sides and top. I almost look like I've been drafted into a military institution.

Work continues as always, with some interesting projects in development at the moment. More on that at a later date. Meanwhile, my dentist appointment is near, so I better suspend the lappy and get moving!
