Looking down Avenue des Champs-Élysées from the Arc to Place de la Concorde where the 3-millennia-old Luxor Obelisk (of Pharaoh Ramesses II) cuts the airspace ahead of the Louvre.

On reflection, perhaps the strangest thing is how this area, particularly the nearby Madeleine and Opéra, its streets, stations and sights, are now so familiar in my mind. It is truly unusual to me that I know my way around somewhere so geographically distant.
