Rented a car and headed out from Paris, south east across France through green fields, forest, tiny towns perched on winding roads.
Night falls and above, a border control point between France and Switzerland in cold and rainy weather. Tunnels, tunnels and more tunnels. The shimmering lights of Lausanne, Vevey and Montreux over the blackness of Lake Geneva (Lac Léman), descending into the Rhône valley and, late now, meeting up with our good friend Danièle. Back to the house, our base in Switzerland and perched high above the valley floor in Aven, like something on a postcard from far away. The view out over the night valley from the cosy bedroom...
Half way around the world, but right at home in the best of company.
