Across the way after waking up a bit more, a coffee and view from Starbucks. There was about half an hour to spare before I'd need to check out of my one-night hotel and into a longer term room, so I soaked it in as the rain kept on.

Outside the station there were, as there are every day, people taking photos with the statue of Hachikō ハチ公, a dog beloved in Japan for its loyalty to its owner. It's a handy meeting spot because everyone knows the location of Hachikō ハチ公 and the station gate named in his honour.
