Heading in that direction, following the canal and turning right, the shiny paint of the 24 metre tall grand torii 大鳥居 makes it seem to almost glow, even in the dimming light of an overcast afternoon. While it was late and most people were leaving the area, there was still enough time to venture inside and take a walk through the garden of the shrine.
