Up along the edge of the rising Dōgenzaka 道玄坂 district, past the elevated expressway. The first stop was the hotel, built as if to fill a void between existing buildings, tall and thin like a matchstick balanced on end. Dumping the suitcase in the lobby pending the afternoon check-in, then asking the reception, like a scene from a movie, for any deliveries. My pre-ordered rental SIM had arrived, but sadly refused to work. No Service.

So back down to the crossing for refreshments at Starbucks, which overlooks the scramble from the second floor of Q-FRONT キューフロント. The building's curved glass shell is a huge video screen facing the station's Hachikō ハチ公 entrance/exit, making it both an impressive sight from the square — especially at night — and a great vantage from which to view the torrent of people spilling into the streets.
